Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Compact Contacts for Mac, Compact Contacts Manager for iPhone and iPad (together, “the apps”), and the compactcontacts.com website handle information. The apps are published by Caglar Serdar. You can reach us at info@nodewires.com.

In short

The apps work with the contacts already on your device. Contact content, Notes, and searches are processed on your device and are not sent to us. We do not sell information or show ads. The apps contain no third-party analytics and do not track you across apps and websites. This website uses Google Analytics only if you accept it, and loads a cookieless Google Ads measurement tag unless you decline.

Contacts access

The apps ask for Contacts permission to show your contacts and, only when you choose, to change them. They can process names, organizations, job details, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, dates, relationships, URLs, images, groups, account information, and Contact Notes. Notes access uses a capability Apple has approved for these apps. You can change permission at any time in System Settings or Settings.

Search and Notes

Search runs on your device. If you turn on Notes search, the Notes index is kept only in memory and is discarded when you turn it off or quit the app.

Changes you make

Edits, Bulk Edit, Merge Studio, and deletion write to your system Contacts only after you review and confirm them. Before a merge, the apps keep an encrypted recovery record on your device for up to 30 days so you can undo it. Before a deletion, you save a vCard backup to a location you choose. Neither is uploaded.

Information stored on your device

The apps store settings on your device, such as window and table layouts, Smart Views (saved filters), custom layouts, references to favorite and recent contacts, and a Contacts change marker. Your system Contacts database remains the source of truth.

Sample Contacts

Sample Contacts is a fictional workspace you can use without granting permission. Its changes stay in memory and are discarded when you reset it, switch to your own contacts, or quit the app.

Exports, files, and other apps

Information leaves the apps only when you start an action, such as copying a value, exporting CSV or vCard, sharing a file, or opening Mail, Messages, Phone, FaceTime, Maps, or a website. Contact Notes are never included in CSV and are left out of vCard exports unless you include them for that export. After a handoff, the receiving app or service handles the information under its own policy.

Purchases

The apps are paid App Store downloads with no subscription or in-app purchase. Apple processes your purchase; we do not receive your payment details.

Support email

If you email info@nodewires.com, we receive what you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it only to reply, investigate problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Our email is hosted by GoDaddy. We keep support messages only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and then delete them, unless the law requires longer retention. Please do not send real contact data or address-book exports.

This website

compactcontacts.com shows no advertising to visitors. If you choose Accept in the cookie banner, the site loads Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), which sets first-party cookies (_ga) to count page views, see how visitors reach the site, and record clicks on App Store links. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and Google may process this data in the United States under its own safeguards. If you choose Decline, no analytics script is loaded and no cookie is set. Until you choose, and whenever you have not declined, the site also loads the Google Ads tag (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to measure our own Google Ads; it runs with advertising and analytics storage denied, so it sets no cookies and Google receives only cookieless signals such as the page address and IP address. Choosing Decline stops it from loading on your later visits. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; analytics data is kept for 14 months. Our web server keeps technical logs to operate and protect the site; IP addresses in these logs are shortened, and request headers and query strings are removed. Google Search Console provides us with aggregate search statistics without any script on this site.

Synchronization

macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and the providers you set up, such as iCloud, Google, Exchange, or CardDAV, synchronize contacts under their own settings and privacy policies. The apps do not run a synchronization service.

Security

The apps rely on Apple platform protections, such as the App Sandbox on Mac and system permissions, request only the access they need, and keep diagnostics free of contact content. No method of protection is perfect.

Children

The apps are general productivity tools and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and Turkey’s KVKK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal information we hold. The only personal information we hold is what you send us by email; write to info@nodewires.com to exercise these rights. Because your contacts stay on your device, we cannot access, export, or delete them for you.

International processing

Support email may be processed outside your country by our email provider under its published safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We will post any update on this page with a new effective date before changes that affect the App Store privacy details take effect.
