Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Compact Contacts for Mac and Compact Contacts Manager for iPad are designed to work with the contacts already available through Apple’s Contacts framework.

Contact data

Contact content is processed on your device. The apps do not upload your address book or Contact Notes to a developer-operated server and do not maintain a developer contact account or contact cloud.

Search and Notes

Search is performed on device. When you choose to include accessible Contact Notes in search, that index is held in memory. Turning Notes search off removes Notes from the in-memory index.

Exports and system handoffs

Data can leave the app only through an action you initiate, such as copying a field, opening another system app, or exporting CSV or vCard. Contact Notes are not included in CSV and are excluded from vCard by default.

Analytics and advertising

The apps contain no third-party analytics, advertising SDK, or behavioral tracking. This website also avoids advertising and visitor analytics. Search Console may report aggregated search and crawl performance without a tracking script on this site.

System accounts

macOS, iPadOS, and configured providers such as iCloud, Google, Exchange, or CardDAV may synchronize contacts under their own settings and privacy policies. Compact Contacts does not operate or verify that synchronization.

Questions can be sent to wedontneed@gmail.com.
